Sao Miguel Island will have two new hotels openning the end of 2008 & 2009

This July, the first of two new hotels will open on São Miguel in the Azores. First in July, the new Furnas Spa Hotel will open after a total renovation of the Azores’s first spa.

Next the same developer, Asta Atlântida, will open the Hotel Príncipe do Mónaco on New Year’s Eve. The Furnas Spa Hotel was built in the historic century-old spa building in Furnas, the valley where hot springs, natural mineral waters and geysers are available to make for a unique spa experience. The Furnas Spa Hotel will have 4 stars, and offer 54 rooms.

The Hotel Príncipe do Mónaco, will be the Azores first 5-star hotel. It will be in Ponta Delgada, next to the sea. The hotel will offer a full casino, shops, and dining spots. All of the 100 rooms will offer sea views. There will be a spa on the top level of the hotel with sea and mountain views. The project cost 46 million euros.
